Your writing stays in your browser

Markdown editing and preview rendering are performed locally in the page. MarkPlane does not send your document text to an application backend. When you choose Copy or Download, your browser provides the clipboard or file download action.

No document uploads

MarkPlane has no account system or document upload endpoint. Your draft is not transmitted to MarkPlane servers.

🧭

You choose what leaves

Copying text or downloading a file is initiated by you. Sharing or publishing an exported document is up to you.

What is stored on this device?

MarkPlane uses your browser’s local storage for the current document and your theme preference:

This data is kept in the browser profile on your device. It is not a cloud backup: clearing site data, changing browsers, or using another device may remove or hide the saved draft. Download important documents as .md files.

Third-party resources

MarkPlane loads its typography from Google Fonts. Your browser may make requests to Google to retrieve those font files. The editor remains usable with system fonts if the font service is unavailable. Document text is not included in these font requests.

Your choices

You can delete the saved draft and theme preference by clearing this site’s local storage in your browser’s site settings. To keep a copy, use the editor’s Download .md action before clearing site data.

This policy describes the behavior of the MarkPlane static client-side app. Hosting infrastructure or external services may have their own operational policies.

Your draft belongs to you.
