The 4-Step Image Engine Pipeline
Every transformation inside PixelPlane flows through our streamlined, hardware-accelerated processing engine:
Ingestion & Decoding
When you drag and drop, browse, or paste an image (Ctrl+V), the file is read via the browser's FileReader API. It is decoded directly into an HTMLImageElement in system RAM without ever touching a network socket.
Hardware-Accelerated Canvas Rendering
The image is mounted onto an off-screen HTML5 <canvas> element. We configure imageSmoothingQuality = "high" with multi-step bicubic scaling, matrix transformations (for rotation and mirroring), and coordinate clipping (for visual cropping).
Format Serialization & Compression
The canvas pixel buffer is serialized into your chosen format. WebP and AVIF utilize advanced predictive entropy coding for massive file savings. For formats like BMP where native browser export is missing, PixelPlane uses our built-in pure JavaScript 24-bit binary BMP serializer.
canvas.toBlob() + Pure JS Binary BMP SerializerZero-Latency Direct Download
The resulting Blob is converted into a temporary browser object URL (URL.createObjectURL). An automated download is initiated directly to your operating system's Downloads folder, followed by immediate URL revocation to keep memory usage minimal.
