The Zero-Upload Technical Guarantee
PixelPlane operates entirely within your browser's local sandbox using the modern HTML5 Canvas API, FileReader, and JavaScript TypedArrays. When you drag an image onto PixelPlane:
๐
No Network Transmission
Your image is decoded into volatile browser RAM. Not a single byte is transmitted across the internet to any API, server, or cloud storage bucket.
โก
DevTools Verifiable
You can verify this yourself: open your browser's Developer Tools (F12) > Network tab, process an image, and see that zero outbound HTTP POST/PUT requests occur.
How PixelPlane Compares to Cloud Image Tools
Cloud-based image utilities collect your media on their disks, analyze them, and often enforce strict bandwidth caps or watermarks. Here is how PixelPlane is fundamentally different:
| Factor |
Traditional Cloud Editors |
PixelPlane Architecture |
| Image Destination |
Uploaded to remote cloud servers |
Remains 100% on your local machine |
| Server Disk Retention |
Saved on disks (1 hour to indefinite) |
Never touches any disk outside your device |
| Internet / Bandwidth Latency |
Subject to upload and download speeds |
Instant zero-latency GPU rendering |
| Account / Login Requirement |
Email, account, or credit card required |
No accounts, no logins, no paywalls |
| Cookies & User Tracking |
Marketing trackers & analytics pixels |
Zero tracking pixels, zero analytics scripts |
| Offline Capability |
Fails without an active connection |
Works completely offline once loaded |
Metadata & EXIF Protection
Smartphones and digital cameras automatically inject rich metadata into every photo you take. This often includes:
- Exact GPS coordinates (latitude, longitude, altitude) pointing directly to your home or office
- Device serial numbers and unique hardware identifiers
- Exact capture timestamps, lens configuration, and exposure settings
- Embedded thumbnail caches of previous uncropped edits
When you use PixelPlane's Clean & Strip EXIF tool or re-export through our compression pipeline, the image pixels are rendered afresh onto an HTML5 canvas element. This mathematically discards all embedded EXIF, IPTC, and XMP metadata chunks, ensuring your shared media is sterile and safe.
What Information Is Stored Locally?
PixelPlane uses browser localStorage strictly for user convenience to remember your visual theme preference:
pixelplane-theme: Set to either "dark" or "light" so your theme preference persists between browser visits. No personal data, session tokens, or image history is ever written to storage.
